Born in 1989, Eugenia Emma Canale received a Bachelor degree in piano from the “Guido Cantelli”’s Conservatorio* in Novara with 100 and honours** studying with M° Vincenzo Cerutti; in November 2013 she obtains the piano Master’s degree with 110 and honours** with M° Luca Schieppati.
Currently, she attends the post-graduation piano courses with M° Piernarciso Masi in Florence’s Music Academy.
She carries on her artistic activity performing both as a soloist and in a Duo.
Playing in a Duo with the flautist M° Chiara Pavan, M° Eugenia Canale gains different competitions, including the VII “Premio Nazionale delle Arti” (chamber music category), held in Trieste’s Conservatory; the “Nuovi Orizzonti”’s International Competition in Arezzo (1st prize), the “Città di Riccione”’s Competition (1st prize), the “Gaetano Zinetti”’s International Competition in Sanguinetto (Outright 1st prize), the “Premio Antonio Bertolini” (Outright 1st prize), Milan’s International Competition “Società Umanitaria” and many others.
The Duo often performs abroad: it has played in Budapest, Zagreb, Marseille, Colony, Athens, Valletta.
She attends the post-graduation chamber music courses with M° Masi in Lucca as well as the ones given by M° Mario Ancillotti in Lugano’s Conservatory.
She has won the scholarship “Master of Music Talents” by the Turin’s CRT Foundation.
She put beside Classical Music a captivating passion for Jazz, which has prompted her to attend the courses by M°: H. Ludemann, A. Keitha, P. Alderighi, A. Cappelletti, N. Stranieri, R. Alessi, D. Borotti, C. Roncelli, Emilio Marinelli, Roberto Zechini, Mario Rusca, performing in national and international contexts; she is the Maxentia Big Band’s pianist in Magenta.
In parallel with the concerts’ activity she is a teacher in music subjects: Piano, Music theory and solfège, History of Music, (School “Maurice Ravel” in Robecco, Cultural Association “Arte&Vita” in Magenta). Her experience as a teacher is addressed both to children (Propaedeutic and workshops with Bernate and Albairate’s Primary Schools) and to Academic levels (“S. Girolamo Emiliani” in Corbetta’s Music Academy); she frequently does formation activities in High Schools through musical and choral singing workshops.
Since January 2013, she is the director of the Magenta’s “Rinascita” Cooperative “D’altro Canto” choir, with whom practices Italian popular music traditions and others; thanks to international seminars and personal researches she enhances her interest in Compared Musicology giving attention to various cultures’ music phenomena experimenting new possible communication channels that could be established between them.
